This is correct since you added appoggiaturas (no slash) instead of acciaccaturas (with slash). Appoggiaturas by definition take half the value of the main note according to standard convention.

Sorry ! The score from which I extracted the example came from an XML import from a Sibelius user. Now I see the slashes in the PDF generated by Sibelius; they either did not make it into the XML from Sibelius, or maybe not into MuseScore from the XML. I will be more vigilant next time. Apologies again; Many thanks for the quick and edifying response !

Best to ask for help in the Support forum and attach the actual MusicXML file. When I try an export from MuseScore, the slashes come through correctly (and they also use slash="yes"), so probably something else is off about your MusicXML file. the support forum remains the best place to discuss potential issues and figure out where the problem is. Then, if it becomes confirmed that a bug exists, and still exists in the current nightly builds of MuseScore 4 (in other words, hasn't been fixed yet), then it's worth submitting an actual bug report.
