Thanks. Yes, I checked and somehow "note input" had been unchecked - (in the middle of a project - go figure) But now it just that if I click on a note, I don't hear the playback. Clicking playback works fine except that there is a delay (when I click to where I want it to start, it will show the first beat highlighted, then when it jumps to that measure, - the first sound (beat) is distorted - not sure that can be fixed - I tried it with musescore 2 - same issue). Thanks for your attention. I would like to send another donation - but I need an address. Sandy
Sounds ike there might be a problem with the score - best to attach it and give precise steps to reproduce the problem, so we can investigate.
The MuseScore company ("Muse Group") is not taking donations as far as I know, but I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you subscribe to MuseScore Pro over on musescore.com
t plays fine for me, but you describe a pretty specific issue involving clicking a particular note, so we'd need to know the precise steps to reproduce the problem - which note you are clicking, etc.
If it happens for all scores, all notes, then could be your system has another program running that is bogging down the CPU or hogging the audio device.

Check your settings in Edit / Preferences / Note Input to be sure you didn't turn off the ability ot play notes while editing.
If that doesn't solve it, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Hi Marc,
I'll attach a score but it happens with all scores.
I'll subscribe as you suggested.

Yes, of course. You've unchecked 'Play notes when editing'. As Marc already mentioned.
