classic orchestral score:
VIEW -> instruments (F7) -> change one instr to "none" -> save
Now it´s imposssible to start this score: musescore 4.0 is crashed.
During the composition I wanted to change one of the instruments. Because of an urgent call I suddenly had to end the composition at this point and saved the score without an instrument name. Since then, musescore crashes always immediatly if I try to call up the score.
Note: The sounds of musecore 4.0 are amazing! Thank You!

I can confrim this score crashes on startup up, but can you explain what you mean about changing an instrument to "none"? There should not be any such option. Or maybe you mean you deleted the name? can you post a prevous version of the score (recovered from OneDrive or Time Machine, for example) and give precise steps to reproduce the problem?

Hi Marc, I hope you will find the problem by the steps shown in the pdf attached.

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. Yes, I can reproduce, and the problem is indeed hitting OK immediately upon brings up the dialog without actually selecting anything. This has the effect of basically removing the instrument, and that's a bug. It's already reported on GitHub as https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/14303, so I will close this as a duplicate. Thanks for pointing out that this also leads to a crash - that increases the chances of a fix sooner rather than later!
