I can't add ties, slurs, melismas to a score without it closing the program! I've opened new files and it some times works but not in a file I have copied and tried to sort several times.
Comments
T for ties, S for slur should work, melisma underscores not working had been reported for some keyboard layouts on Macs

Yup, I know all the short cuts and have used musescore now for years. My issue isn't I don't know what I'm doing, it's that musescore isn't working!
I've tried both shortcuts and using from the docked panel and for some parts of the score it works, for others it just immediately shuts it off. I've tried this on both a Macbook and desktop computer.
Melismas do work on Mac's as I've achieved it but it literally just shut off on certain ocassions. It's difficult to describe but it's getting a pain when I just want to get an arrangement done for a student!
In order for someone to investigate, we would need you to attach the score you are having trouble with and give precise steps to reproduce the problem. In general, ties, slyurs, and me,lisma all work as intended, so we'd need to understand exactly what is going in your specific case to make it not work. My guess is the score is corrupt somehow that that is what is triggering a crash, and in that case, the next question be, how did the score become corrupt. But anyhow, first things first, we need the score and steps.
Ah, I'll figure it out. I thought I was just reporting a bug not posting on a forum.
The file is literally fine, I even started a new score and it's done it on that (even saved it and opened it from a different location. I'll try again tomorrow. I'll just turn back to Musescore 3 for this becuase Musescore 4 is holding my speed of arranging back.

Well, you have started the process of reporting a bug. What I am saying is, in order to continue the process, you need to provide more information, so that others can try to reproduce the problem and confirm the bug. It all works fine for us, so it must be something unique about your score or your precise steps. That's why we need you to provide us with both.
MuseScore 3 has bugs too, but they won't be fixed. That's why it's worth the effort of helping us help you, by completing the bug reporting processing with MuseScore 4.
