Adding fonts
Hey, ist there a way to add my own fonts to musescore? I've got the file and decent programing knowledge if it should be more advanced.
Thanks

Needs to get compiled in. Check the sources on GitHub.
Nobody else will be able to properly read your scores after such a change though

Can I use GitHub fonts to make my own font or are they under copyright?

I believe the respective font subfolders contain their respective licenses.
To be clear: are you talking about music fonts (so, custom shapes for clefs, noteheads, etc) or text fonts? Text fonts work already out of the box, just install them normally and MuseScore can see them. Music fonts you need to compiled them into the program and add all the necessary support yourself. The font would need to adhere to the SMuFL standard for it to have any chance of it working. And best if it's open source and you can submit a pull request to get it included in a future release!

Regarding text fonts, they work fine but when the score is imported to the .com site, they are not recognized...

Neither will they be if you share them with anyone else that doesn't have those fonts..
You'll want to limit yourself to the fonts they support. Which ones that are, you'll have to ask them (istr FreeSans/FreeSerif/Arial/Times/most google fonts)

is there a possibility to specify somehow a "roll-back" font in case ?

Not that I'm aware of no.
Fallback of fonts is handled by the Operating System.

I would like to know how to install a plugin's tablature font.
I downloaded a Native American Flute plugin, and unzipped it.
The plugin needs a specific font for its tablature, which I also downloaded (it is a zip file). What do I do with it in order to install it?
Also, the plugin's readme file does not say anything about compiling or installing the plugin. So I simply placed it in the Plugins folder. However, it does not show up in the MuseScore Plugin Manager.
I have attached the plugin zip. It contains a JS file. The font zip is too large to attach. The font zip file contains multiple TTF files, PDF files showing what the tablature looks like, and a huge number of GIF files. Only one of the TTFs are mentioned in the plugin's readme file.

That plugin is for MuseScore 1 only (I'ne added a 3.x version). How to install that fon is described on the page where you downloade the font
