Musescore Studio crashes when editing ties
When attempting to move the Tie in measure 8; beat 1; staff 2, Musescore crashes. It sometimes crashes after you move it twice, and other times, only once. This may have to do with cross-system ties being buggy, but I don't know.

After experimenting some more, it turns out that it only crashes when I click and drag the actual tie, not the gray boxes.

I tried it the way you say. Nothing more.
It really looks like this (the OP was talking about Slur and then Tie): https://musescore.org/en/node/369531 Personally, I've never succeeded to receive a crash.
That's why I was and am inviting others to try.

Will be fixed for the upcoming 4.4.3
