How to force 4 measures to be on one line?
Hi,
New to MuseScore. I have a score in A4 size, portrait. I have breaks set up so that there are 4 bars per line. I then added a key change at the start of some bar, and it resulted in that bar before the key change being put on its own lie, with previous 3 bars on one line. What I really want is for those 4 bars to be on one line. If I change page size, for instance make it landscape, then all is fine. But I want things looking the way I want in portrait.
Tips?
thanks

MuseScore will always put as many measures as can fit given your current settings, so the way to get more measures is to change one or more of those settings. The settings mentioned above are all relevant, and depending on the specifics of your score, there might be others as well. If you continue to have trouble, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.
select all the measure that you want to be on one line, then hit the "{" key (which is "shift-[") until they are all on the same line. you can also find this functionality under Format > Stretch > Decrease Layout Stretch {
I know this is an old thread, but I posted in case anyone else is searching for this.

And even better: now (you couldn't do this when the thread was posted originally), you can select the Group Measures tool from the Layout palette. This forces the selected measures to stay on the same system regardless of how cramped they get.
