Color selection window changes size

In creating a document, I was greying out certain notes and info in the lyrics line. All worked fine until I tried greying out the last entry. At that point the Color window expanded in vertical length until I could not see the slider nor the "OK" button. It runs from the top of the screen window to the bottom, and there is no way to "grab" it with the mouse and shrink it down.

Why?
How do I get around this?
