Doubletime_v2 plugin

• Dec 12, 2017 - 13:33

I wanted a utility that would double the values of all the notes in my piece (i.e. change it from 6/8 to 3/4)

I downloaded the plugin, copied and pasted it into the plugin file in Musescore 2.1.0. When I try to use it, the program is shut down by Windows.

Please help.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Keith Lawrence

Musescore crashed on my system too. Took another version. This did something ... useless.
I did not deal with plugins up to now, but as I worked as software developer about 40 year ago :) I was looking a bit into the code and think that it is not a good concept. Sorry, I don't know too much about that language and the possibilities of that environment. Had a look into a plugin that came with musescore called "random" and there I at once found a mistake. It wants to create notes even if it is already at the end of the score... I wonder if there is a kind of quality check for that kind of stuff. Ok, in that case the user does not realize it, but the log tells it. Don't know if I find the time to deal with this programming feature... wanted to write scores.

In now see that it is really difficult to create such a plugin, because it requires a cursor which is difficult to keep under control. Moreover there are only few descriptions available.
I tried to create my own plugin and am happy that now the output seems at least better then what you get with official doubletime oder halftime plugins but I am still not satisfied, as it is impossible to set key signatures and and and.... and it is rather slow. I am not sure if crashes musescore or not.
