Unusal termination when Installing MDL from inside Musescore 2.3.2
Steps to reproduce:
Installation per instructions here: https://musescore.org/en/node/273636
Expected behaviour: Installation of the MDL extension and the relevant soundfonts.
Actual Behaviour: Extension installed partially, but generated a Visual C++ "unusal termination" error, when expanding the sound fonts...
This occured when attempting to install it manually from a file here - https://musescore.org/en/node/273939#comment-842584.

Are you saying it works when installed normally - using the extension manager - but fails when using the unsupported "backdoor" method described in that forum thread, and only with that particular version of the extension? If not, have you tried the usual method of installing, via Help / Resource Manager / Extensions? It should work and seems to for most people.
Basically, we need more information about whether things go wrong on your system when installing normally.
I need to amend the original report..
The MSVC 'Unusual termination' Occurs irrespective of whether the extension is installed via the Resource Manager or manually.
The crash occurs when it tries to extract the sound-fonts... ( My thought would be is it simply running out of memory?)
Could it run out of disk space during the extract? Or out of RAM? How much (of each) does your machine have?
In reply to Could it run out of disk… by Jojo-Schmitz
My machine has 4.0 GB and a very large disc (at least 100GB).
However , when putting soundfonts in one by one using the Zerberus tab in the Synthesiser dialog, MuseScore gave an error "Cannot load SoundFont C:/Users/Admin/Documents/MuseScore2/Extensions/mdl/1.1/sfzs/MDL_CymbalLine.sfz" suggesting an issue with this specfic SFZ.
The extension itself is now apparently present...
Hopefully this gives enough of a hint.
