Conflict between elements - element avoidance.
I added the accents by CTRL/select 4 notes ans CTRL/double click.
The accent and the tie line conflict.

No, maybe the screen size/resolution?

I think it's just a mater of your scores being slightly different - you can see the tied notes are closer together in one than the other, thus changing the shape of the tie.
MuseScore 3 will have a fair amount of collision avoidance. It remains to see how well it will perform once fully implemented and debugged.
