MuseScore 3 Crashes on Splash Screen (MuseScore3.exe is not responding)
I updated to MuseScore 3 about a week ago. It ran fine for a few days. I'm running Windows 7 on my PC.
I was working on a song and I went to go use the page layout drop-down list when MuseScore3 crashed horribly. It hasn't been able to open since.
Every time I try to open it now, it will hang on the splash screen indefinitely. The program icon doesn't even show up on the taskbar. This also happens when I go directly to opening a score.
(NOTE: I have already uninstalled multiple times, to no avail. Not even restoring to factory settings helps. I have also disabled my firewall.)
It should also be noted that the "QtWebEngine.exe" process does not end after I terminate MuseScore.
What do I do?
Update: I have installed MuseScore 3 Alpha. It worked until I tried opening a new file. Then, MuseScore 3 Alpha gets caught in the same error loop as before.

Try using the -s (no sound) and -w (no web access) commandline options to find out whether you're affected by 2 problems that had been reported several times

Hi Jojo. I've been reading a lot of your comments on other posts recently; I'm glad you're here.
I'm not sure how to use commandline options.
Is that referring to the MuseScore console? Or command prompt itself?
I have the console downloaded (as a JScript file named "console") but I don't know how to run it.

Suggestion (too late for this specific case, for later): enhance the MuseScore installer to add an additional start icon in the start menu called something like "MuseScore save mode" doing exactly that: start MuseScore with a maximum of settings set on a way to enable start even un case of issue (-s -w ...).
Or add an executable"MuseScoreSaveMode.exe" that would do that, and in addition simulate web access trial and reports errors.
