Musescore tends to stay on the splash screen (the blue window that says "musescore 3", if that's what it's called) for several seconds, sometimes upwards of ten seconds. I don't know if that's normal or just my computer. But it's been a problem since 2.0. I'm running Windows 10 with an i5 processor, btw.

Are you using MDL? Or any other large soundfonts?

Actually, I am. And I don't really need it, now that I think about it. Thanks for the tip!
Those SFZs take time to load and don't do it in the background (yet) as the SF3s.
And just 10 seconds for MDL is on the fast side ;-)
