In version 3.2: palettes would follow the background color.
3.3beta and 3.3beta2: Palette background colors do not follow preferences.

In beta2 this behavior is supported via a preference which can be enabled in Edit→Preferences→Canvas→Use the same color in palettes. It is disabled by default as it would be difficult to achieve a consistent appearance (e.g. for cells highlight/select colors) for an arbitrary palette background color, so palettes default to having a pre-defined background color unless the other option is explicitly chosen by a user.

I didn't see this option. Now when I check back I saw it.
My system has 3.2, 3.3beta and 3.3beta2 installed at the same time.
I may have even checked the preferences of the other beta.
