PortAudio selection blank / MuseScore 3.3.2 / MacOS Catalina 10.15.1
The PortAudio selection is blank in my MuseScore preferences (also in MuseScore 2). I tried different solutions described in this forum (MacOS full disk access, reinstall MuseScore, unplug USB devices etc.) Nothing of these solutions helped. Unfortunately you can not use MuseScore that way. Any Solutions, Ideas? I think its a bug.

I use 3.3.2 all day long on Catalina. It is not basically broken, but I have no idea why yours doesn't say "Core Audio" like mine.
Hi, i was having the same problem(where the API and Output selection were blank, but it was supposed to say Core Audio and Speaker Output), and was searching for the solution on this forum and the internet for about 2 days. I found out that the system needed an SMC reset which is easy to do, just follow the instructions on the Apple website. Hope this solution helped!

WHY did it need an SMC reset? I have never been forced to do one (running in Catalina or before then)....

In any case, this should be added to some user-knowledge database of MS usage on the Mac.

Unfortunately, the SMC reset did not help on my MacBook :/
