No track names in exported midi file?

When I import a midi file, created in Musescore 3.4, in another application such Ableton, none of the tracks have original instrument name--they're generically numbered instead (Track 1, Track 2, etc). (The midi file contains non-melodic percussion instruments on separate staffs.) Is this to be expected? Shouldn't Musescore save the staff/instrument name with each midi track?
