Hitting Drum Sticks Together (Sound)?
As far as I can tell, there isn't a sound of drum sticks being hit together available (as drummers often do to start a song), correct?
If not, is there a way to upload additional sounds that I find elsewhere into MS?
I'm trying to find an appropriate sound to set the tempo when others will play live with the score. Any suggestions are welcome. I've tried wood blocks but it isn't really the sound I want. Even a metronome sound would be better.

You can use the Side Stick in the drumset to count-in the tempo:
Sidestick_count-in.mscz
If that doesn't suit your needs, see the Handbook under Soundfonts to learn how to download and install additional sounds.
You are looking for MIDI note 31, Sticks (GS specification). The default Musescore soundfont has a decent sound for it.
Use Edit Drumset to add it by giving it a name, or use this drumset with all GS sounds: drums_gs_random.drm

Thanks! What instrument would that be associated with? I haven't found it in the drumset.

Sadly none, you have to add it manually. The default Drum Set is a bit of a mess. ;)
Enter note input mode (N), and click on Edit Drumset. Sort by No., scroll to 31, and give it a name (e.g. "Sticks countoff"). Then it will appear with the other drum sounds in the menu below. Pick a note head style & position, and maybe give it a shortcut (replace E for tom, or F for foot highhat).

Thanks...that's super helpful! I got it working.

Update: How is this done in MuseScore Studio 4? Is it the same, or has the process changed? I need it for a song I'm writing.

The process of customizing drum set definition to access other MIDI pitches hasn’t changed - yet. Improvements are slated for 4.4, due later this year.
