Repeat-measure numbering

Can there be a better way of putting numbers over bars with repeat symbols.

It is most common in drum parts, but is needed in other parts too.

Note: these are not measure numbers. The above, with the numbers 2, 3 and 4, appears at measures 20-23 in the score.

At present the only way I've seen to do this is to select a single repeat symbol, and add either staff text or a symbol from the master palette to it, and repeat this for each repeat mark in the sequence. Using staff text puts the number by default near the start of the measure instead of centered over it, so I have to select them all and change the horizontal offset. A symbol from the master palette is over the repeat mark by default, but it's hard to add multiple symbols to make larger numbers (eg: '12').

It would be good if the number could be made a property of the repeat measure. It would be even better if the numeric sequence could be done automatically just by ticking a 'number the repeats' property. The number would always start at 2 in the first repeat-measure after a measure with actual notes in it, which is the notional 1.

Apologies if the issue has been raised before, but I haven't found it.

While this would be a nice enhancement, it is actually quite simple to get this effect currently. First you can add the repeat symbols for multiple measures at once. Second, you can add the staff text to each, then select them all at once (select range, right click one, select / all similar elements in range selection) and use the Inspector to adjust to offsets of all simultaneously, or apply a different text style. So you can create a whole string of these and get them formatted how you like in seconds. That said, sure, would be nice to save even those few seconds. But realistically, then one would also want customization over how this works, so the numbers only occur at certain intervals etc.
