Adding a jazz bend above one note, not guitar.

• Apr 18, 2016 - 17:29

Hello all,
I'm trying to add bends in jazz charts like the one pictured below. The guitar style bends are way to clunky looking for me. Is this possible in MuseScore, other than a 'text U'?

Thank you, but not what I am looking for.
I see those, but adding two of them together is too time consuming and doesn't quite look right.
And editing those elements didn't give the result I wanted either.
This is a very common figure in jazz charts and I am surprised it doesn't (or does and i just can't find it) already exist in MuseScore.

I tried editing the actual 'Bend' in MuseScore, but that is clearly a guitar figure and not for horns.

Actually, I don't tend to see that symbol very often at all in published jazz charts - the usual falls and doits mentioned above are far more common. But that symbol does crop up from time to time, and you can find it on the Symbols palettew (press "Z" to display). Just type "bend" into the search box and it pops right up. If you are notating music that uses this a lot, you can add it to a custom palette as described in the Handbook under "Custom palette".
