When you're at a given position in a part, it would be nice to be able to jump to the same position in the master score.
Perhaps add a right-click menu entry when selecting an element in a part that enables this?
Only minor, because using find and a measure number the lookup already happens fairly fast.

Could even be the Default behavoir. if you're on a certain note/measure in part and switch to master score, you should end up at the same place by default IMHO.
I'm not even sure we'd need an alternative bahavoir.
I suspect there are at least some cases where one would prefer the current behavior - I can totally see wanting to have different parts in different places, actually. So I am not totally comfortable with changing the default. But adding a "sync" button seems harmless. Only trouble be deciding what to sync. There are in principle three different things you could potentially want. The note input cursor position (relevant mostly when in note input mode of course), the selection (which may or may not be a single element "cursor"), and the currently-displayed measure range.
A toggle toolbar button would work as well (like pan score/play repeats); graphic department then has to figure out something that can convey position-link/unlink.
