Unable to remove ties
This is in r4620 (Windows), but works fine in 1.0 / r3996
action: select a tie and press 'del'
expected result: tie is deleted
actual result: tie stays
action: select a note on which a ties starts and re-input the note
expected result: new note without tie is created / tie is deleted
actual result: tie stays

Have you tried reloading (File>reload)?
I have found a number of instances where the display does not refresh until reload.

Werner changed the slur behaviour in 4318, and now I can't delete them. I assume it extends to ties as well.
Perhaps also: #11222: Replaced note does not delete forthcoming tie
slurs/ties can be deleted again in r4632.
#2 is a different bug. There are several cases were ties are not handled right (or at all). This is work in progress and eventually subject of another bug report.
