According to the preview shown in drum input mode, ride cymbal and tambourine notes should both have the "diamond" notehead:

However, when I enter a ride cymbal or a tambourine note I don't get a diamond notehead but instead I get this:

I was able to reproduce this issue with a fresh set of preferences with MuseScore versions 2.0.2 and 2.0.3.

The preview shows them in Bravura font, the default however is Emmentaler, and what you notice it the difference between the two fonts, esp. for this notehead.

Switch to Bravura and they'll match

The palettes do have the same problem, they too show the Bravura symbols, Bravura being the reference implementation of SMuFL, hence being quaranteed to have all the symbols we do support, which is not neccesarily the case for Emmentaler and (even less) for Gonville.
