Pedal in MIDI

I have made a music sheet and saved it as a midi file but i can not seem to be able to hear the pedal. I have downloaded another midi file from somewhere else and when played, i hear the effects of the pedal working. Can anyone explain to me how i can create the midi file with the pedal sound in it?

Yes, the pedal line is exported as a SUSTAIN controller in both MuseScore 1.2 and 2.0. If you encounter a case where it's not exported please provide the MuseScore file + the MIDI file + the version of MuseScore + your OS.
