Hi all,
I noticed a poor resolution of the splash screen.
I run musescore 2.0.3 on a MacBook Pro Retina 15''.
See screenshot below. Bildschirmfoto 2016-09-19 um 16.08.01.jpg

Kind regards, Fabian

Ideally the splash screen would be SVG or other vector format. In the meantime you can disable it in the preferences if it bothers you.

It's justifiable either way. Feel free to change it if you like but I probably wouldn't bother myself.

It's worth mentioning though that a vector graphic is not the only way to solve this, another way would be to include images at multiple resolutions. This may even be the better option if it saves having to load a massive SVG library early in MuseScore's startup routine.

Thank you for your answers! :)
Changed the subject to feature request.
I can't code, so I hope you could maybe add it to your list for future releases.
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Fabian

You're welcome, but please be aware that changing the priority will not get the problem fixed any sooner. There are plenty of other active bugs that actually affect the quality of MuseScore's output, or the performance, usability and stability of the program itself. It is only right that those issues are addressed before something like this, which is purely aesthetic.

On the other hand, as aesthetic things go, this is a pretty noticeable one—it is literally the first impression of MuseScore a user gets (after the icon). When the splash screen comes up looking like that, the new user could easily infer that it's a poorly maintained, unprofessional program.

I suppose this change can only be made by whoever has the source document from which the PNG version is exported.
