We can now insert a pitch of the selected duration and expand the measure by pressing Shift+Cmd+(letter). But we can't yet insert a rest of the selected duration and expand the measure by pressing Shift+Cmd+0.
I'd love to get this working but adding a new command for 3.5 is probably not going to happen, and I'm not clear when the next opportunity would be. Meanwhile the workaround is to add a note then immediately delete it.
It would be possible to get the rest command to insert when in insert mode (!), but the way the code is structured would require a bit of refactoring that I don't have the stomach for right now.
