If a single page score is created, the navigator drag (blue) box is not limited to the only visible score page. It can be dragged all over. Add another page and the drag box works OK. Win7 32 bit.
Sorry, not fixed in R4937. I still can horizontally scroll way off to the left and right on a new single-page score. Top to bottom is fine. A two page score also works fine. As soon as a multiple page score is reduced to one page, the horizontal scroll limiting is gone again.
If you zoom in so the blue zoom box is smaller than the thumbnail, scrolling is limited to the thumbnail. As soon as the zoom box is larger than the thumbnail, I can drag it left/right way off the thumbnail (all the way across the navigator window it would appear) although I can't see the blue box once I'm off the thumbnail.
Yes, it does seem fixed now. The only exception is when you mouse scroll way out to a 5% view and then scroll back in, but not on the score page. You end up in the netherworld of grey. See my comment in #8808: Add option to limit scroll area of the navigator and the score view regarding this issue.

It seems to work for me - when I create a single page, zoom in and drag the blue box around, it doesn't view outside the page.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (4929) - Mac 10.6.8.
Don't zoom in or do anything else after creating the score. Just drag the box around. Then you will see what I mean.
I can't move vertically, but can horizontally - is it the same with you (or what you're referring to)?

Yes, the horizontal scrolling isn't limited to the page. Vertical is OK.
So the purpose of the issue is really horizontal movement not being limited.
