Adding random barlines, notes, rests, articulations, ect., everywhere.

I'm creating a jazz band arrangement of "Hey Ya", and I opened my file one day, but there was one page where the whole thing was just a giant bar of rest that wasn't supposed to be there, and when I tried to delete it, it stayed there, yet every symbol you can think of randomly showed up throughout the rest of the piece. Can anyone help?
