2. Right-click first stave.
3. 'Stave Properties...'.
4. 'Edit'.
5. Change the quantity of 'Lines' to 1.
6. 'OK'.
7. 'OK'.

Result: Asterisk (to notify of impending save) doesn't appear.

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (5329) - Mac 10.6.8.
