Stem detachable from beam
1. Open attached score.
2. Double-click either stem.
3. Drag the square vertically.
Result: The stem detaches from the beam.

This is a feature.
Really? in 1.2 it just makes the stem longer. Are you confusing this with click and move horizontally?
