"Create Part" Crashes MuseScore

• Apr 7, 2012 - 18:58

Trying to create a part from a score freezes and crashes MuseScore.

1) Open up "Bohemian Rhapsody (Recorder Ensemble)" (attached file)
2) Click "File" --> "Parts"
3) Select a part from the created options I made
4) Click "Create Part" and BAM.

I tried this process with another score and it did NOT crash MuseScore.
What's the problem with this particular score?

I am running MuseScore 1.2 on Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a Toshiba laptop.

Thanks,
Ezra

Confirmed on Windows XP SP3 / MuseScore 1.2

MuseScore 1.2 is no longer supported, as all efforts are going into version 2.0 to be released later this year.

The latest Nightly version of 2.0 for Windows - R5522 won't even open this file without crashing, which suggests there may be a corruption somewhere.

Do you know how to open an issue in the issue tracker?

As that is where this needs to go for further investigation.

There is not really anything different between this and a lot of the other scores I've created. I originally created it on 1.1, and when I finished it on 1.2 after an update. While working on it in 1.2, there were a few crashes. I could not define the cause of these crashes, but they would all happen after copying and pasting a bar of music. The Ctrl+C (copy) would work fine, but the Ctrl+V (paste) would crash MuseScore. It didn't always happen, and I could not synthesize this to happen under certain situations, as I didn't remember the differences in situations when the program DID crash. However, I'm not sure if this is the cause of corruption, because the exact same happened with another score I am currently working on (Six Trios, Op.3 by Francesco Zappa) and creating parts on that file works just fine.
