Tie/slur in fret diagram

• Jan 28, 2017 - 16:44

I'm not a guitarist, but I sometimes see a tie, or slur on top of a fret diagram (link ).

What is this?

Can it be achieved?

If you mean that bow on top of the fretboard diagrams, I think it is a barrè?
You don't really need 5 fingers for these Bbsus or Eb(sus2/4)

Yeah, it's a barre of a chord: the same finger presses multiple
frets down. Usually, but not always, this is the pointer finger ;)

It can be achieved by re-aligning a regular slur from a note,
but it isn't standardly part of a chord-diagram itself in M.S.
