Project

(Running Windows xp)

1) Create a score with a flute and a Bb clarinet
2) Write a C# on the clarinet
3) Copy it and paste it to the flute staff

You get a B, but the notehead is dark yellow!!

I don't think that this is a bug. You are copying a C# from a Bb clarinet and this is a concert-pitch B. When you paste it to the flute (a concert pitch instrument) MuseScore is warning you that it might not be in range (it won't be in range if you have a C foot but it will be in range if you have a B foot on your flute).

Hmmmm, I don't know this nomenclature.

The C is the 'middle C', with one ledger line under the staff.
The G is the one found on the 2nd line of the staff.

(the staffs have conventional G-clefs)

BTW, that thing about the ranges seems to be the explanation!!!
Thus, I'm closing that.

Thanks.
