clef bug

• Sep 28, 2012 - 14:44

The attached is an extract from a larger piece.
When played, notice that at the fifth bar the sound shows that the base clef has changed to treble and the treble has changed to treble-octave higher.

How do I get it to notate correctly
musescore version1.1

upgrade to 1.2 and test again
if the bug is still there, check a nightly build
if it is fixed there, wait for 2.0 to get released...

Looks like some kind of corruption in the score, better delete the last 2 meassure (Ctrl-del) and enter them afresh

Or drag a normal treble clef into measure 6 and 5 in the upper staff (in that order!) and a normal bass clef into measure 5 in the lower staff
(this at least seems to work in 1.2)

I think the score has become corrupted there, so opening in 1.2 won't fix it, but I do suspect that corruption would be less likely to occur in 1.2. I know I've seen that happen once or twice and had found steps to reproduce it, but I believe that was in the nightly builds for 2.0, and I also believe that has already been fixed.

Anyhow, bottom line, something you did triggered a bug in MuseScore. The thing to do is figure out what you did that triggered this - what was the last thing you did before seeing this? - and then see if that can be reproduced in 1.2 or in 2.0. If it can be reproduced in 2.0, they will fix it. If it can be reproduced in 1.2 but not in 2.0, then it's already as fixed as it will be; you'll just have to avoid doing whatever it is that triggered the bug. Or, if it's already fixed in 1.2, then great!

As for what you might have done to trigger, I seem to recall the bugs I saw it had something to do with some combination of clef changes and inserting measures before the first measure of piece.
