Tested in d6b2062113 and it's fixed.
Things are not so easy! (Things are NEVER easy with tabs)
If the tab style is with "stems through staff", dots are regular dots and can be manipulated as usual; if the style is "stems beside staff", dots (as well as stems, hooks and beams) are internally managed and cannot be manipulated. This is by design and I don't think it reasonable to change it.
So, to which style does the OP refer?

Sorry for the late response - I haven't been able to check for a while.
There have been changes in MuseScore since the report was filed. This is applicable to '6-str common'.

Just changing to active as it still happens.

As Miwarre explained, "6-str common" is "beside staff". So it works as designed.
Okay, sorry.
