deleting first bar results in misrendered result (see screen shots)

I was trying to remove the first bar of a single part. I selected it, went to "edit" menu and clicked "delete selected measures" . I was expecting the bar to be removed and for the music to be correctly formatted. The bar was deleted but the bar's rest remained and looked odd (see attached screenshot).

I am using the latest version of OSX on a macbook air. The version of Musecore I am using is 1.2 revision 5470. NOT FOUND: The funny looking result of the bar being deleted. NOT FOUND: The funny looking result of the bar being deleted.
