Increasing fret number size on *tablature*

• May 19, 2017 - 02:42

I'm visually challenged so I make the tabstaff bigger. Unfortunately, despite combing through the manual and forum, I cant find a thing about increasing the size of the *fret numbers* in the *tabstave*. Any help? This is really a major hindrance to my practice and learning.

Thanks in advance!

Assuming you used "Layout / Page Settings / Staff space" to increase the size of your tab staff, the fret numbers should have scaled with it. But if you need them even bigger, try right clicking the staff, Staff Properties, Advanced Style Properties, then increase the font size there.

Welcome aboard!

If you could attach an example of what you actually are working on, it would really show exactly what you are facing.

How are you making the TAB staff bigger?
For what instrument are you writing?
Is the TAB staff linked to another (e.g. treble) staff?
Do you want the linked staff bigger also?

Having said that, maybe try using 'Staff Properties'.
See:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/staff-properties
where you can increase the 'Scale' - try 150% - so the numbers will get bigger.
Then, if the staff lines are too far apart for you, you can decrease the 'Line distance' in the same dialog.

To change only the size of the tablature numbers (without affecting the staff size), open the Staff Properties dialog, click on the 'Advanced Style Properties' button, and change the font size for the numbers (look on the 'Fret Marks' tab). That's what Marc mentions.

Regards.

If you right click the staff and select staff properties you can increase the scale. This changes everything on that staff.
