These 3 dialogs are QWidget with the QDialog flag to make them appear on top. A possible fix could be to make them QdockWidget? even if they are not dockable. The synthesizer in particular doesn't need to be dockable.
I don't have Gnome 3. Do dockable widget work correctly on it when undocked?
M.
(A few, possily OT, questions:
Shall MuseScore support all these combinations of OS / Display manager / Desktop enviro?
How relevant Gnome 3 is (versus Unity or Cinnamon)?
Does the issue appear in Cinnamon too?
)

It's very hard to get stats on Linux distribution, or desktop environment... If it was just me... :)
For Gnome 3, there is a simple workaround

Yes, undocked widgets seems to work. Also note that Master palette and plugin creator are both working. (they don't have QDialog flag)
Is this still a problem on AppImage for 3.x or 4.x?
