In MuseScore's preferences, I am unable to create non-alphanumeric keyboard shortcuts using the "shift" key. For example, I can create "shift+f" or "shift+5", but attempts to create "shift+up" or "shift+backspace" result in just "up" or "backspace" shortcuts being created instead.
I am running the MuseScore 2.1 AppImage on KDE Neon 5.10.0 64-bit (Plasma Desktop 5.10.0, KDE Frameworks 5.34.0, Qt 5.7.1, Linux Kernel 4.8.0.54-generic).

Same on Windows 7 and Qt-5.4
But as mentioned in the forum topic it doesn't seems to be a Qt bug, because it's possible to declare these kinds of shortcuts with the application Scribus (Qt 4.8.6 and 5.6.0 (distribution package/AppImage)), but not with MuseScore (just tested with Qt 5.4.2 and 5.6.1)
Where do you see that being mentioned?
Edit: Ah, see it now...

Came up again in https://musescore.org/en/node/323062
Culprit seems the fix for #41551: Shortcuts using shift are not registered correctly.
Regression vs MuseScore 1 (!)
Workaround is to manually edit shortcuts.xml
