MuseScore does not launch any more

• Jun 22, 2017 - 09:02

Hi,

I read a few things about this in that forum, but nothing helped. For a few days now, when i launch MuseScore, I see the process launches (from the task manager in Win 10) and then disappears: the software does not open. However, if I launch it from the command line with an -d parameter, the soft launches. I had a look to the ini file: nothing shocked me.

Anyone for a clue?

Thanks in advance

PS: I already tried to deinstall/reinstall, even with a 2.0 version... same as 2.1

I finally debugged things thanks to Katherine ... here below:

Still no joy. So I have tried one last thing - although I hate having to edit the registry when I don't really feel confident about what I am doing.

In https://musescore.org/en/node/99886 Mark Scholes says:

Windows 10 blocks fonts that are not in %windir%/Fonts, if Block Untrusted Fonts is enabled.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/threat-protection/block-untrust...
If I disable this setting MuseScore runs fine, if it's enabled it does not load.

And Jojo-Schmitz replies:

And I repeat, MuseScore doesn't install fonts, not in %windir%/Fonts nor elsewhere.
I don't have MitigationOptions at all in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Kernel\, not sure whethet than means in regards to Block Untrusted Fonts being enabled ot not

So I checked my registry - I don't have MitigationOptions in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Kernel\, but when I put it in and disable it then MuseScore 2.1 works absolutely fine.
