Grace notes in other clef

• Jun 24, 2017 - 12:07

Hi,
I am trying to achieve this in Musescore:
grace notes other clef.png
However, when I add the grace notes to the first D in the measure, it seems I cannot change the clef of the grace notes without also changing the clef of the other notes.
Does anyone know if this is possible in Musescore? Or is it possible to add loose grace notes, that aren't tied to a normal note?
Thanks!

Well, I deleted my first message, because the grace notes, in a chord, cannot be staggered one by one. I saw this "detail" after sending my message.
But I agree, it seems a rather good result nevertheless.
(there is another way, see after that, but, after a first trial, maybe need some extra work for editing)

So, my first message again:
Possible of course!
See: clef grace2.mscz

1) In the staff with bass clef -> select the rest -> double-click on the treble clef in palette
2) select same whole rest -> type 5 -> Ctlr + 5
3) Enter the 16th notes in Voice1, then the first D quarter note in Voice 2
You are here: step1.mscz
4) Add the grace notes: after the first E -> Shift + B -> Shift + G
So: step2.mscz
5) Select the three grace notes with Ctrl -> In Inspector, set the chord horizontal offset to -3,00
6) Select the clef -> horizontal offset to 1,50
(all these settings can be changed/improved as you wish)
7) Add and edit a slur
Result: as on first attached file

Funny story- I actually made this post 2 years ago, about trying to transcribe the exact same piece. Even the image is the same.

I ended up not keeping the transcription I was working on due to computer switching, but I think I had the exact same solution that worked for you- normal notes instead of grace notes, made small.
