Buttons "Set loop in position" have a strange look and feel

• Aug 2, 2017 - 20:00

Select a note and then click the (e.g. left) "Set loop in position" button in the play panel.
The button is displayed as pressed and is blue.
What is strange is that after that you can click again on the button and it is then displayed "unpressed" and black again, but this seems to have no effect at all on the playback, the loop position set at the moment the button became blue stays in force.
I don't understand to what corresponds this "unpressed and black" look.
In fact perhaps it should be always displayed like that and it is the "pressed and blue" look which doesn't correspond to anything?
Thanks

I see what you mean. The looping features on the play panel are....loopy.

Open the panel, click a note and press the [ button. - The start flag appears as expected, the end flag appears in some pseudo-random location. Note: the loop button is automatically press.

Click the [ button again - the flags stay displayed and the loop button remains pressed.

Select a start and end loop point. Click the loop button - the start and end loop buttons remain pressed but the flags are invisible. Click a start or end loop button, it becomes unpressed but the loop playback button becomes pressed. and the loop flags become visible.

Before now, I have never done more than very straightforward actions with the play panel.
