Hi,
I want to share with you an idea I got about better readability when editing staves on musescore. The idea is simple, using the mixer to show/hide staves.
I mean, when you use the mixer, checking the mute button will result in hidding the staves in the score.
What do you think about this ? Hard to implement ?Every comments are welcome :)

this idea is also discussed in the forum here : http://musescore.org/en/node/25086

There is no one to one relationship between a staff and an instrument in the mixer. See for example the violin and the trumpet. Moreover, I'm pretty sure some users would not like this behavior, they want to mute an instrument but still see the staff.
To accomodate both, you can hide staves in Edit -> Instruments

There is no Edit->Instruments, guess you meant Add-Instruments which es where you can toggle visibility.
Linked parts might be another Option.

Both of course not in 1.3 but in the nightly builds only.

Ok, i've seen the option in the 2.0, but I wonder if it couldn't be a choice let to the user? I mean in the preferences you can check "link staves behaviour with the mixer" for example. Ok, so it's just an idea :)

But it should be mentioned there is talk of someday combining the the mixer and instrument list, and this could be an argument in favor of the idea. I guess there would be details to iron out, but in principle, I think it would be a good idea.
