How to beam correctly

• Nov 27, 2017 - 17:26

Hello everyone
I'm transcribing some music and I want the notes to join up in the same way as on the handouts.

I currently have this:
1 now.jpg

and I achieve this:
2 can achieve this.jpg
(by selecting the last note and using "no beam"),

but I would like to achieve this:
3 want to achieve this.jpg .

Is that possible with MuseScore?
Thanks

See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/beams#beam-icons

Use the beam that says Middle when you put your mouse over it in the palette. The manual explains this as "Do not end a beam at this note (or rest)" which is not correct. It should say something like "attach this beam to the previous and next notes (or rests) if permitted." It will not attach to a note or rest with no beam (like a 1/4 note), or do not beam this note or the next note (or rest) with start a beam at this note.
