You can already do this by editing - as ordinary text - the current string numbers on your score. Then, drag and drop these string numbers in the palette. See an example, image below.

Well, I leave the status as active, but without conviction, since it's an easy customization.
Workaround is a custom workspace
The symbols palette has them from 0 to 9
Which makes me wonder why we're not using those glyphs instead of text with a circle?
