Problems with sounds using sonatine symphonic

I have installed Sonatina Symphonic soundfonts. I have added it to the right folder and it displays in the synthesiser. Upon selecting, clicking standard font for this score, I get all weird sounds. The hobo sounds like a cowbell, the violins are replaced by the piano, the second violins become timpani and so on.
I have tried different options, changed the mixer setting, but appareantly I did not succeed.
It would be highly appreciated if somebody could tell me what it is that I am doing wrong. I use the music score to accompany myself in my daily practice of a concerto.
