Sequential mixed 9/4 and 6/4 meters same for all voices

• Mar 19, 2018 - 02:53

Hello,
I have sequential polyrhythm, mixed 9/4 and 6/4 meters same for all voices - i.e. the 1st measure is 9/4, 2nd 6/4, 3rd again 9/4 and so on.

How can I do that in Musescore avoiding putting the local time signature 6/4 in front of each even measure (which makes the sheet terribly ugly)?

Thanks!

MuseScore does not currently support this. There are various workarounds, none of which are ideal; I'd probably save myself the trouble by using a 13/4 time signature, and then adjusting its properties to display as 9+6/4 and group beams appropriately.

I am working on a piece with a similar design. It uses 2 6/8 measure followed by a 9/8 measure. It is movement 2 which starts in measure 227. I use 6/8 9/8 as the time signature and for each 9/8 measure I changed the actual duration from 6/8 to 9/8. I right clicked the 6/8 time signature and changed the displayed signature to 69/88. MuseScore doesn't recognize spaces.
