My teacher sent me a Musescore file with some edits, but when I tried to open it, the entire sheet music space was blank (no staff, measures, lines, etc. -- see screenshot attached). If I tried to input notes, Musescore crashed and I had to close it. I tried to save and open it as a PDF, but it was still blank. I was able to open a Musescore file that I had made on my own computer with no problem, but for some reason, this one won't work at all.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi HanaKotone,
Would you feel comfortable attaching the MuseScore file the same way you attached the screenshot? It would really help us try to figure out what is going on.

Actually without a score showing that issue there's not much chance to get to the bottom of this and so next to none to get it fixed

Let's close this here, no feedback for 2 months, so not reproducible.
But I found some more similar reports in the forum, and have scores to reproduce in that other issue, probably even found the score that was having this issue here.

Reported version 2.2

Hi, I'm currently experiencing the same problems. I try to open any file, it asks me if I want to convert some stuff due to the files being from older versions of Musescore, but whether I click 'yes' or 'no', I just get a completely blank screen... :-( Happens with all the files I downloaded from the online version, I've included two Pdf's for example although I'm sure there's nothing wrong with them.

Some more info:
1. Haven't opened any file succesfully so far
2. Just got a pro version of Musescore
3. Pdfs load normally as Microsoft Edge Pdf Document

Something to do with my computer settings?

This issue got closed 5 years ago

And the entire issue tracker got discontiniued earlier this year, so ypu'd need to use the new issue tracker on GitHub

Anyway: 2. Just got a pro version of Musescore
There's no such thing, the MuseScore editor (for Windows, Max and Linux) as well as this website hewre, musescore.org, is entirely free, no pro version exists
3. Pdfs load normally as Microsoft Edge Pdf Document
MuseScore doesn't load PDFs. As mentioned further up, you'd need to share the score itself, the mscz file
