Icons not refreshing on preferences change

OS: Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0, revision: 929eee6

Steps:
Open MuseScore
Open Edit->Preferences
Change the icon sizes (width or height)
Click Apply
Click OK

Expected Result:
All the icon sizes change upon apply, or at least on OK.

Actual Result:
No icons update until the mouse is moved over the icon.

The icon bar becomes way too big (long) after icons are enlarged. How to change size of icon bar without changing the size of the icons themselves?
