Conflicting fonts
It seems that in this discussion: https://musescore.org/en/node/275523 the user has a conflict between the internal MuseScore fonts and the external font with the same name. I was wondering if there is a way for MuseScore to use internal fonts before looking for external fonts of the same name? This isn't the first time conflicting fonts has risen.

Would be nice, but it seems Qt's font loading mechanism doesn't allow for this.

I'm pretty sure I wondered the same in an issue several years ago but I can't find it. The conclusion was indeed what Jojo said. Maybe there are some changes in this area with more recent Qt but I doubt.
Personally, I wonder about reconsidering our whole model of building fonts into the application rather than installing them normally like virtually everyone else does. I gather it complicates the installer some, but maybe it's worth it?

If QT supports it you could then have MuseScore first look in a predefined folder for the fonts before looking in the system locations. I'm not sure what affect or complications would be seen in Text Styles... where you can select your font.
