Open the attached file:

  1. Double-click a Marcato onto the last chord in the Bass staff:
    articulations_issue.png
  2. Now try to adjust the "Anchor" in the Inspector.
Result: None of the settings work.
  3. Set "Anchor" to "Above staff". Set "Direction" value to either "Up" or "Down" in the Inspector.
Result: Now the Anchor value works.

In other words, the "Inspector: Anchor" does not change the position of the articulation if the "Inspector: Direction" is set to "Auto."

Suggestion: The "Inspector: Anchor" should always be effective regardless of the value of "Inspector: Direction."

Title Articulations: "Inspector: Anchor" does not work if "Inspector Direction" is "Auto." Articulations: Adjustment of position using the Inspector is buggy and inconsistent

The behaviour is different with a sforzato.

  1. Use the same file as above. Double-click a sforzato articulation to the last chord in the Bass staff.
  2. Now set the "Inspector: Anchor" to "Above staff."
Result: The sforzato appears to move to a "Below staff" position.
  3. Set the "Inspector: Anchor" to "Above chord."
Result: The sforzato appears to move to the correct position.

So, for sforzatos, only "Above staff" doesn't work when "Inspector: Position" is set to Auto.
